Why Apple Owes Ireland $14.4 Billion?


Apple has been ordered to pay $14.4 billion in back taxes to Ireland after losing a court battle with the European Union. The EU ruled that Apple benefited from illegal tax advantages in Ireland, where it used a tax loophole called "Double Irish" to reduce its payments. Apple has expressed disappointment, saying its taxes were already paid in the U.S., but the decision is final. The Irish government is expected to invest the funds into a sovereign wealth fund, while opposition parties push for increased spending on public services.

Tata Motors Reduces Prices of EV Models, Including Top selling models Nexon and Punch, by Up to ₹3 Lakh




Tata Motors has announced significant price cuts on its electric vehicle (EV) models as part of its ‘Festival of Cars’ campaign, running until October 31. Discounts include up to ₹3 lakh on the Nexon EV, ₹1.20 lakh on the Punch EV, and ₹40,000 on the Tiago EV. Post-reduction, the Tiago EV starts at ₹7.99 lakh, Punch EV at ₹9.99 lakh, and Nexon EV at ₹12.49 lakh. Additionally, customers will receive six months of free charging at Tata Power stations, aimed at boosting EV adoption across India.

India and US Set to Finalize $3.1 Billion MQ-9B Predator Drone Deal by End of October



India is set to finalize a $3.1 billion deal for 31 MQ-9B Predator drones from US-based General Atomics, following approval from the Defence Acquisition Council. The deal, pending financial and security clearances, aims to boost India's defense capabilities with drones equipped with air-to-surface missiles and laser-guided bombs. The Indian Navy will receive 16 drones for maritime security, while the Army and Air Force will each get eight for land operations. The first 10 drones are expected to be inducted quickly, with others arriving in six-month intervals.
